This Drill Block ( P/N 9536721-300) is machined from S.A.E. 4140/42 Steel Alloy. It has been heat treated and tempered. Each Block is “Liquid Nitrided” ,which gives it the black color and provides, corrosion resistance and a scratch resistant surface. This block is machined to accommodate a 0.500″ diameter “press fit” drill bushing on one end and a 0.750″ diameter “press fit” drill bushing on the other end. We have improved on the original design to add stainless steel set screws, (which you can see in the photo), to mate with the detente in the newly designed drill bushings. We have also machined a “V” groove in bottom face in part to lighten the drill block, but primarily to aid in drilling “centered” holes in control surface push rods or other cylindrical/tubular components. The “V” grove assures the fastener hole will be perpendicular to the tangent of the tube outer surface with the resulting hole passing through the center of the tube.
Approximate Dimensions: 3.8″ Long, 1.1″ Wide, 1.0 ” High, Approximate Weight 0.62 lbs.
